Description and Purpose of Event
The Fall and Spring Musicales offer students an excellent opportunity to perform 1 to 2 pieces in a recital setting.
Eligibility
Students of all ages (including adult hobbyists) with any instrumentation and voice.
Registration Deadline and Info
FALL Registration deadline: September 14, 2024
SPRING Registration deadline: March 12, 2025
To register your students, use the HMTA online application, found here.
All participants must also fill out a Consent Form, found on the public Events page of our website. Please direct your students or their parents to fill out the form prior to the event. https://www.houstonmusicteachersassociation.com/events
Event Fees
$15 per student for HMTA members.
$30 per student for non-HMTA members. Entry by non-members is limited to 3 students per studio.
$7.50 for students in large ensembles (more than 3 members in the ensemble).

Event Requirements and/or Rules
Repertoire Requirements:
1 to 2 pieces within 6 minutes total.
Any solo, duo, duet, or ensemble piece in all styles of music is acceptable, including simplified versions.
Memorization is required for solo pianists and singers.
Please do not take repeats. The duration of the piece will be required on the registration form.
Teacher Responsibility:
Teachers are responsible for sending the registration form and fee. Please indicate the exact time for the duration.
Teachers are expected to attend and help on the day of the events. If a teacher is unavailable, please let the committee know and we will assign you other duties beforehand.
