Morales Piano Academy
Mr. Morales is a graduate of The Juilliard School of Music where he received both his Bachelor of Music degree in 2000 and his Master of Music degree in piano performance in 2002, under the tutelage of world-renowned teacher/artist Yoheved Kaplinsky.
Rodolfo Morales has been teaching professionally since 2002, both privately and
as Director of Piano Studies at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts
(HSPVA), and as Piano Department Head at the American Festival for the Arts
Summer Conservatory. In 2010 he received the prestigious Pre-Collegiate Teacher
of the Year Award from the Texas Music Teachers Association.
Rodolfo is a member of the Houston Music Teachers Association where he served as
President of the Association from 2012-2014, and the Greater Houston Independent
Music Teachers Association.
In addition to his busy schedule as teacher, Mr. Morales remains an active
performer both as a soloist and as a chamber music player. He has performed as
soloist with the Houston Symphony, the San Antonio Symphony, the Woodlands
Symphony, the San Antonio Symphony, the Fort Bend Orchestra, the National
Symphony at Interlochen, and played at such prestigious venues as the
Wortham Center, Stude Hall and Zilkha Hall in Houston, the Latin Center for the Arts
in Dallas, the Hall of the Army in Sarajevo Bosnia, and the Weill Recital Hall in
Carnegie Hall and the Juilliard Theater in New York City. Rodolfo has particular
affinity for modern music, having premiered many works by living composers.
Mr. Morales attended the Interlochen Arts Academy at Interlochen, Michigan
as a full scholarship recipient, and
the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, where he
studied with pianist/composer Robert Avalon and Sylvia Strong.
Rodolfo lives with his beloved and talented wife Donell, his amazingly
musical son Jacob, and his sweet step-son Cody in the Montrose area.
